Soft-Glass is also often the cheaper alternative to Pyrex. This sole aspect can seal the deal for a lot of people who simply want A) a good quality glass piece, which also, B) won't force them to put a mortgage on their house. You will find that Soft-Glass physically looks very, very different from Pyrex. Soft-Glass is produced from different types of glass and is also fired at a much lower temperature than Pyrex. Often, you will see marbled swirls on Soft-Glass pieces (a product of these attributes). And what's kind of cool about that is that it's a look that Pyrex actually cannot pull off!
